Announcing The 2005 Golden PENDY Winner!

The grand-prize, the much sought-after “Gold PENDY Award,” goes to Alaina Readman who works for a large insurance company in Green Bay, WI. According to her boss, Alaina is a dedicated administrative professional who undeniably deserves “star treatment.”

As part of her prize, Alaina will be whisked away on a lavishly-decadent, weeklong spa vacation for two in Arizona with a generous $4,000 stipend. Alaina will also receive an impressive golden PENDY, a fresh bouquet of flowers every month for a year and Pendaflex organizational supplies, including the Project Sorter, Mobile File and Get-A-Grip Expanding File, to keep her on top of the many tasks she juggles each day.

“In my role, there’s no margin for error – things need to happen now and they need to be perfect – but that’s what energizes me,” said Alaina. “I take great pride in providing my boss with flawless service and coming through in a pinch when the task at hand seems impossible. I’ve always enjoyed the recognition of Administrative Professionals Day, but this year I’m honored to be named the ‘2005 Administrative Professional of the Year’ and to receive such a generous prize.”

A Federal Admin
As Executive Secretary Debbie Fiderer on The West Wing, Lily Tomlin perfectly captured the intelligence, edginess and sense of humor the role demanded – all of which kept President Bartlet (Martin Sheen) on his toes.

Her role on The West Wing wasn’t the first time Ms. Tomlin stepped into the shoes of an administrative professional. In addition to her work as Debbie Fiderer, she portrayed Violet Newstead in Nine To Five and Jane Hathaway in the 1993 movie version of The Beverly Hillbillies.
A Real Classic
Actress Nancy Culp originally brought to life the character of Jane Hathaway, Mr. Drysdales secretary, on TVs The Beverly Hillbillies.  As Jane Hathaway, Ms. Culp helped Mr. Drysdale with the monumental task of handling the Clampetts both as customers and neighbors.

The I Hate Filing Club isn't alone in its adoration of Jane Hathaway Ms. Culp earned an Emmy nomination in 1967 for the role, while TV Guide named Miss Jane one of the Greatest Characters On TV & Ever in its October 1999 issue.
